Offering our Faith

June 4 marks the anniversary of Buddha’s first teaching in this world and also the birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union. Every day we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe-la but on this day, to mark Venerable Geshe-la’s birthday, with minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we offer him our faith through using the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from his Faithful Disciples and collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a short retreat.

This is also an opportunity to gather and celebrate together as a community. The morning retreat is followed by a bring and share lunch and Offering to the Spiritual Guide Prayers. There is no charge for attending this special day.

Course Structure

Each session consists of chanted prayers, mantra recitation and meditation.

Teacher

Kadam Paul Jenkins

The principal Teacher at KMC Wales is Kadam Paul Jenkins. A dedicated student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Kadam Paul has been studying and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 30 years. He has practical experience of integrating Modern Buddhism within a busy, professional, family life and is able to share this through the clarity and warmth of his teachings.
