5th September – October 24th
7th November – 12th December
We suffer because we do not understand our own mind and so unconsciously follow distorted, pain-producing mental patterns. Buddha taught a path to total inner freedom and joy based on deep insight into the workings of our mind, and using this understanding to totally transform our human nature from its present unfree and painful state to the limitless freedom and bliss of enlightenment. In Course One – Mental Tools, we will look at what the mind is and how it works, mainly in terms of the mental factors that constitute the operating system of the mind . In Course Two – The Causes of Happiness, we will learn how to develop the principal virtues, the inner sources of all peace and joy. These classes are based on How to Understand the Mind by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. These classes are open to everyone with no need to book. You are welcome to attend whichever classes you are able to, but to obtain the full benefit it is advisable to attend the whole course.
