Please note we are a registered charity (1039234) and this fee covers the running costs; the teacher and the assistant do not receive payment.

You do not need to book in advance- these are drop-in classes.

Classes cover these areas: Canton, Roath, Llandaff, University of Wales Cardiff, UWIC, University of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Rhondda, Pontypridd, Penarth, St Fagans, Llantrisant, South East Wales, Dinas Powys, Wenvoe, Sully, Llantwit Major, Rhoose and the Vale of Glamorgan and the Valleys.

Directions:

If coming from the city centre along Llandaff Road (B4267) towards Llandaff:
Go just past Glynne Street on the right and the Cardiff Chinese Christian Church on the left.

Please use the access route beetween Donnignton House, 70A Llandaff Road and Gilmors. Walk throught the archway (pictured above) and Yurt in the City is 50 yards past the Print Haus on the left. Look out for the brightly coloured shipping containers and you will find us at the back warehouse.

Parking is limited at the bone yard so best to park on one of the side streets. Thanks!

Meditation is a method for cultivating inner peace, and mindfulness enables us to bring this peace with us into our daily lives. In these increasingly busy and stressful lives we all need to find a way to make our mind peaceful because genuine and lasting happiness is impossible without inner peace. Through meditation we learn to gradually reduce states of mind that produce stress and unhappiness- like anxiety, anger, fear, dependency, jealousy, low self-esteem and meaninglessness- and replace them with open, loving, wise and peaceful states. These classes are suitable for everyone, beginners and more experienced meditators alike.

"Meditation is a mind that concentrates on a virtuous object, and that is the main cause of mental peace. The practice of meditation is a method for acquainting our mind with virtue. The more familiar our mind is with virtue, the calmer and more peaceful it becomes. Therefore, it is important to train our mind through meditation. By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstances. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness. If we train in meditation, our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we will experience a purer and purer form of happiness. Eventually, we will be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances."
